Legal Information

About this Legal Information Page

This page sets out the legal information that inforaza publishes about itself, its website and the training services it sells through the site. It is written to be read on its own, but it also forms part of a wider set of documents that together govern the relationship between you and us. Where this page refers to the Privacy Policy, the Cookie Policy, the Terms and Conditions, the Payment and Refund Policy or the Acceptable Use guidance elsewhere on the site, those documents should be read alongside this page rather than instead of it.

Nothing on this page is legal advice to you, and nothing here reduces any right you have as a consumer under the law of England and Wales, including rights you hold under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If any part of this page appears to conflict with a mandatory consumer right, the mandatory right prevails.

We have tried to write this page in plain, accessible language. Short headings tell you what each section covers, and where a legal rule has practical consequences for you, we have explained the consequence rather than simply repeating the rule.

Identity of the Website Operator and Its Role

This website is owned and operated by inforaza, a commercial provider of specialist training for people who work with media feeds and live production. Our courses cover the central hub of media feeds activity: professional video operation, live signal management, content distribution, camera work, and the creation of reliable, high-quality feeds for news programmes and television broadcasting. In practice that means practical instruction in multi-camera switching, gallery and control-room operation, real-time video workflows, signal routing and monitoring, contribution and distribution paths, and the professional management of television and streaming productions.

Our role is that of a training provider and, where relevant, a publisher of supporting course material. We are not a broadcaster, a telecommunications provider or a platform operator on behalf of our learners, and we do not take editorial responsibility for anything a learner produces or transmits using the skills taught in our courses. Where a course includes access to studio or gallery facilities, those facilities are provided for teaching purposes only.

All of our commercial activity is conducted in compliance with applicable United Kingdom law governing commercial education, consumer contracts and electronic commerce. We do not operate a regulated financial service, a gambling service or any activity requiring a licence from a sector regulator.

Legal Form, Registration Details, Tax Identifiers and Responsible Representatives

inforaza is a private limited company incorporated in England and Wales. The following non-contact legal identifiers apply to the operator of this website:

  • Company Registration Number: 02867466
  • VAT Registration Number: GB 645 085 923
  • Place of Registration: England and Wales
  • Register of Companies: Companies House, Cardiff

These identifiers are published because the Company, Limited Liability Partnership and Business (Names and Trading Disclosures) Regulations 2015 require a company to disclose its registered name, its place of registration, its registered number and the address of its registered office in its business communications, including on its website. They are also required in practice by the Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002, which oblige an online service provider to make its identity, geographic address and registration details easily, directly and permanently accessible to recipients of its service.

Our tax affairs are registered with HM Revenue & Customs, and the VAT number shown above is the number under which we account for VAT on our supplies. Where a price is shown for a course, it is inclusive of VAT unless the opposite is expressly stated at the point of sale.

Because we provide education and training rather than a regulated activity, no sector-specific operating licence is mandated for this business type in the United Kingdom. We also do not need a licence to hold or process personal data, but we do have to comply with the data protection legislation described later on this page. Where we handle personal data in the course of our business, we act as a controller for that data.

The people responsible for this website and for the company's decisions are the directors of the company. Their names, service addresses and appointment history are filed with Companies House and are available for public inspection free of charge on the public register. Details of any person authorised to represent the company in a particular matter, such as a complaint or a data protection request, will be confirmed to you on request through the contact route described below.

Registered Office and Contact Details

Our Registered Office is BT Tower, 60 Cleveland Street, London, W1T 4JZ, United Kingdom. This is the address at which formal documents may be served on the company and the address recorded on the public register.

You can reach us through the following channels. Please use these for all formal communications, including notices, complaints and data protection requests, so that we can log and respond to them properly:

  • Email: [email protected]
  • Telephone: +44 20 7432 5955
  • Postal Address: BT Tower, 60 Cleveland Street, London, W1T 4JZ, United Kingdom
  • Website Contact Form: available on the Contacts page of this website

Our published opening hours are Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 18:00, and Saturday, 10:00 to 14:00. We are closed on Sundays and on public holidays in England and Wales. Messages received outside opening hours are recorded and answered on the next working day.

This website uses a site-wide cookie banner to collect and record your consent choices for cookies and similar technologies, in line with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR). You can change or withdraw your choices at any time by reopening the banner or by adjusting your browser settings; the Cookie Policy explains how.

Purpose, Scope and Intended Audience of the Website

This website exists to describe our training courses, allow visitors to compare them, and let learners book places. It also provides supporting information: course outlines, technical requirements, joining instructions, accessibility information and the policies referred to on this page.

The subject matter is deliberately narrow and practical. We teach the skills needed to keep a live feed flowing: operating cameras and vision equipment, switching between sources, managing audio and video synchronisation, monitoring signal quality, distributing content to multiple destinations, and handling the pressure of a live news or sports environment. Courses may be delivered in person at a studio or gallery, online in real time, or as a blend of the two, and the format of each course is stated before you book.

The intended audience includes media professionals, broadcast technicians, freelance camera operators, gallery and control-room staff, streaming and content-production teams, corporate communications departments, students of film, television and media studies, and organisations that need their staff trained to a consistent standard. Content is written for users in the United Kingdom and internationally. Because course material and instruction are delivered in English, a reasonable working command of English is assumed.

This website is aimed at adults and at organisations. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Course content is educational and does not constitute professional advice for any specific broadcast, safety or regulatory situation; where a production has its own compliance, health and safety, or editorial obligations, those remain with the production.

Rules for Access to and Acceptable Use of the Website

Access to this website is granted on the condition that you use it lawfully, respectfully and for its intended purposes. Legitimate use includes reading about courses, submitting an enquiry, completing a booking, and downloading material we expressly offer for download.

When using this website you must not:

  • break any applicable law, or use the site in a way that facilitates unlawful activity;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site, to our systems, or to another user's account or data;
  • introduce viruses, malware, ransomware or any other harmful code, or run automated attacks against the site;
  • scrape, harvest or systematically extract content, contact details or course material, including by automated means;
  • copy, resell, sublicense or republish course material, recordings or teaching resources without our written permission;
  • impersonate another person or organisation, or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone;
  • post or transmit content that is defamatory, harassing, discriminatory, obscene or otherwise unlawful;
  • interfere with the normal operation of the site, or place an unreasonable load on our infrastructure.

If you breach these rules we may suspend or withdraw your access, cancel an unstarted booking, and take reasonable technical and legal steps to protect the site and our learners. Where a breach amounts to a criminal offence, we may report it to the police or to another competent authority.

Ownership and Permitted Use of Website Content, Trademarks and Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in this website and in the material we produce for it belong to inforaza or are licensed to us. That includes the text, layout, graphics, photographs, diagrams, course outlines, lesson plans, slide decks, exercise files, sample media, software configuration examples, and the underlying source code and structure of the site.

You may view, download and print pages from this website for your own private, non-commercial use and for internal evaluation within your organisation. You may quote short extracts for the purpose of review, teaching or reporting, provided the quotation is fair, accurate and attributed to us. Any other use requires our prior written permission. In particular, you may not reproduce, adapt, distribute, sell, publish or make available substantial parts of our course material, nor use it to deliver competing training.

The names, logos and marks used on this website, including our trading name and any course names, are our trade marks or are used with permission. Nothing on this website grants you a licence to use any trade mark, and you must not use a mark in a way likely to cause confusion about the origin of a product or service. Third-party trade marks, product names and technology names that appear in course descriptions remain the property of their respective owners and are used for identification and descriptive purposes only.

If you believe that material on this website infringes your intellectual property rights, please contact us using the details above with enough information for us to identify the material and the right you say is infringed. We will review the notice promptly and, where it is well founded, remove or amend the material.

Accuracy, Availability and Proportionate Limitations of Liability

We take reasonable care to ensure that the information on this website is accurate and up to date when it is published, particularly course descriptions, dates, prices and technical requirements. Even so, the site is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Course content and technology evolve quickly, timetables can change, and third-party tools, formats and standards described in our material may be updated by their owners without notice to us. Where a material detail changes after you have booked, we will tell you and offer an appropriate alternative or a refund in accordance with the Payment and Refund Policy.

We do not promise that the website will always be available, uninterrupted or free from errors, nor that it will be compatible with every device or browser. We may suspend access temporarily for maintenance, security or updates. We do not warrant that any particular learning outcome, qualification, job or contract will result from completing a course; outcomes depend on your own work, experience and circumstances.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of business, loss of opportunity, loss of anticipated savings, and loss of data arising out of or in connection with your use of this website. Where we are liable for direct loss, our total liability in relation to any course is limited to the amount you actually paid us for that course.

Nothing in this page excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for breach of the terms implied by section 49 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (that services be performed with reasonable care and skill), or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. If you are a consumer, you also benefit from the statutory remedies for a service that is not performed with reasonable care and skill or that is not as described. We are not liable for delay or failure caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as power outages, network failures, industrial action, severe weather or restrictions imposed by a public authority.

External Links and Third-Party Content

This website may mention or link to third-party resources, such as manufacturers, software vendors, professional bodies, venues or standards organisations. Those references are provided for convenience and context only. We do not control third-party websites and we are not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability, security or privacy practices, nor for any products or services they offer.

Following a link to a third-party site means that site's own terms and privacy notices apply, and you should review them before providing any personal data or entering into any contract. A link does not imply endorsement, sponsorship or affiliation on our part unless we say so expressly. If you are a supplier or partner and you notice that a link is broken or misleading, please let us know.

Data Protection, Cookies and Electronic Communications

We process personal data in accordance with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, and we follow the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) for cookies and electronic marketing. We collect data lawfully, fairly and transparently, and only for specified purposes: administering your booking and your learning, responding to your enquiry, keeping financial and tax records, improving our courses and website, and sending marketing where you have given consent or where we have a legitimate interest that is not overridden by your rights.

Depending on the context, our lawful basis for processing is one or more of: performance of a contract with you, compliance with a legal obligation, our legitimate interests in running and improving a training business, or your consent. You have the right to be informed, to access your data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have data erased in certain circumstances, to restrict processing, to data portability, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time where consent is the basis. You can exercise these rights through the contact route set out on this page. We keep data only as long as necessary, apply appropriate technical and organisational security measures, and use written agreements with processors who handle data on our behalf.

Cookies and similar technologies are governed by the site-wide cookie banner. Strictly necessary cookies are set without consent because they are required to operate the site, while analytics and marketing cookies are set only after you consent. You can withdraw consent at any time through the banner, and the Cookie Policy lists the categories of cookies used and their purposes. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), although we would welcome the chance to resolve the matter with you first.

Consumer Protection, E-Commerce and Course Bookings

As a commercial provider of training services we comply with the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 and the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008. Before you book, we give you clear information about the course content, the level and prerequisites, the price, the dates and times, the delivery format, the technical requirements, the identity and address of the trader, the total cost, and your cancellation rights.

We also comply with the Provision of Services Regulations 2009 by making our name, legal form, registered number, registered office and general terms available on this site. Where we sell a course at a distance or off-premises, you normally have a 14-day cooling-off period running from the day the contract is concluded, during which you may cancel without giving a reason. Because of the nature of live training, the cooling-off period ends once a course has been fully delivered with your agreement, and if you ask us to begin a course during the cooling-off window you may be charged a proportionate amount for the part already supplied.

Billing, invoices, payment methods, cancellation, transfers, non-attendance and refunds are all handled under the Payment and Refund Policy. Prices are shown inclusive of VAT where applicable, and we do not add undisclosed surcharges at checkout. If something goes wrong with a booking, contact us first using the details on this page: most problems are resolved quickly at that stage. If we cannot resolve a consumer dispute directly, you may use an approved alternative dispute resolution (ADR) provider. We are not obliged to participate in ADR, but we will always tell you clearly whether we are willing to do so.

Related Policies and Cross-References

This page should be read together with the other legal documents published on this website, all of which are available free of charge and which we will also send to you on request:

Applicable Law, Competent Courts and Consumer Dispute Rights

This website, this legal notice and any contract formed through it are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Subject to the paragraph below, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with the website or a course booking.

If you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may bring proceedings in the courts of your own part of the United Kingdom, and nothing in this page affects that right. As a consumer you retain all rights and remedies available under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, including the right to a remedy where a service is not performed with reasonable care and skill, and the protection against unfair terms in consumer contracts. Complaints about data protection may be made to the Information Commissioner's Office. Complaints about company disclosure or the public register may be raised with Companies House.

We are committed to dealing with complaints fairly, promptly and without unnecessary formality. Please raise any concern with us first, in writing, using the contact route below, so that we have the opportunity to put things right.

Contact Route, Changes to This Page and Last-Updated Statement

Enquiries about this legal information page, about a booking, about your personal data, or about intellectual property should be directed to us using the Contact Form on the Contacts page of this website, or by Email at [email protected], by Telephone on +44 20 7432 5955, or by post to BT Tower, 60 Cleveland Street, London, W1T 4JZ, United Kingdom. Please include enough detail for us to identify the matter, and tell us how you would prefer to receive our reply. Formal notices should be sent in writing to the registered office address given above.

We review this page regularly and may update it to reflect changes in the law, in our business practices, in the courses we offer, or in the way the website works. The version published on this website is always the current version, and the date shown at the top of the page tells you when it was last changed. Material changes will be highlighted on this page and, where the change significantly affects an existing booking or how we use your data, we will notify affected learners directly using the contact details they have given us. Continued use of the website after an update means you accept the revised page.
